Things sure are starting to feel like the end of the school year.....lots of field trips are happening and the weather has been beautiful.
Memorial Day weekend is quickly approaching which really lets the kids know that summer vacation is right around the corner. Just a reminder students will have school May 22 as a snow make-up day. It will be an early dismissal with secondary schools dismissing 12:15 p.m. and elementary schools dismissing 1 p.m.
There will be no school May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
An operations committee meeting of the school board is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 1 at the administration building.
A PTO meeting is scheduled 7 p.m. June 1 at Harry S Truman Elementary School. This is the last meeting of the school year.
June 4 and June 5 will be early dismissals for the elementary schools 1 p.m.
The annual HST Ice Cream festival will begin 1 p.m. June 6. Come out and enjoy the festivities and have some fun. There's always something for everyone. The very popular basket raffle continues to be a part of the festival.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23 and 26.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. Thanks to all the veterans who have fought for our freedoms that we remember on this day.
