Ruth C. Nester, 84, of Steinsville, Kempton, died May 9, 2015, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She and her husband Paul D. Nester would have celebrated their 61st wedding aniversary on May 22.

Born in Perry Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Earl J. and Elma M. (Shappell) Dreibelbis.

A 1950 graduate of Perry Township High School, she was a partner and bookkeeper for the former family machining and burner drilling business until 2000.

She loved gardening and had greenhouses at her home where she raised flowers and bedding plants for many years.

During the 1960s, she helped with the family farm, which included raising baby pigs.

She was a member of Jacob's Church, Jacksonville, Lynn Township.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Jeffrey P. of Lorton, Va., Dennis A. of Trexlertown, Scott D. and wife Stefanie E. of Kempton; a sister Judith A. Kistler of Kempton; granddaughter, Alyssa V. Nester; grandson Jason L. Nester and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Mary E. Mohler, Ella L. Dreibelbis and brother George Dreibelbis.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. May 15, in Jacob's Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli.

Calling hour begins a 10 a.m. The Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate.

Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the church memorial fund.
