Millersville undergraduate awards
Several area residents were recognized at the 57th Annual Undergraduate Honors and Awards Convocation on April 25 at Millersville University.
The honorees and their awards are Ann Kovacs: the Class of 1866 award, the Edna H. Myers Mathematics Scholarship, the Faculty-Student Athletic Committee Award, the Laura B. Doering Library Service Award, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, and the The Reverend Lewis Merwin Hobbs Medallion / Dr. Dominick '53 and Mrs. Helen DiNunzio Award; Connor Casey: the Eugene Groff-Arthur Hulme Football Scholarship.; and Rachel Strzelecki: the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.
The Undergraduate Honors and Awards Convocation is a formal recognition of Millersville University students who have excelled in academic, athletic and student organization endeavors during their studies.
Named to Alvernia honor society
Alexandria Crouthamel of Bethlehem was named a member of the Beta Kappa Chi Honor Society. She is studying forensic science at Alvernia University.
The natural sciences and mathematics society encourages the advancement of scientific education through original investigations, dissemination of scientific knowledge, and stimulation of high scholarship in the pure and applied sciences.
Penn State undergraduate awards
Several Bethlehem residents were honored at Penn State Lehigh Valley's 29th annual awards convocation on April 29.
Outstanding achievers and their awards were Lisa Cifres, 2015 President's Freshman Award; and Maria Mikroudis, Alexandria Downing Outstanding Student in Sociology Award.
The highest cumulative average of 3.5 or higher in each college awards were won by Alexander McConnell, Information Sciences and Technology; Lisa Cifres, Liberal Arts; and Maria Mikroudis, Penn State Lehigh Valley Programs.

Kutztown honor society
Kutztown University has inducted Bethlehem residents Katherine Dagenbach and Sarah Olmstead into the Phi Alpha National Honor Society for Social Work. The society fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
