FREDDYS: Locals nominated for May 21 awards

The 2015 Freddy Award nominations were announced by Ed Hanna and Shelly Brown, of WFMZ -TV and The State Theater, on May 7, The ceremony wil be televised live at 7 p.m. May 21 on WFMZ channel 69 from the site, the Easton theater.

The Bethlehem Press coverage area schools, nominees and categories are:

Bethlehem Catholic, Brigadoon: outstanding use of costumes; Madelyn Dundon, outstanding performance by an actress in a supporting role; Gianna Stettner, outstanding performance by a featured dancer; outstanding choreography; Grant Kawecki, outstanding featured performance by an actor; Rebecca Nixon, outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role; and outstanding overall production by a smaller school.

Freedom HS, Hairspray: outstanding use of scenery; outstanding use of costumes; outstanding use of lighting; outstanding chorus; Kelly Donah, Lizzie Trostle, Olivia D'Aprile, Brady Hill, Nikki Slavic and Victoria Scovens, outstanding small ensemble performance; Lizzie Trostle, outstanding performance by an actress in a supporting role; Brady Hill, outstanding performance by an actor in a supporting role; outstanding choreography; Ben Adams, outstanding featured performance by an actor; Victoria Scovens, outstanding featured performance by an actress; outstanding production number; outstanding stage crew; Kelly Donah, outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role; and outstanding overall production of a musical.

Saucon Valley, Pippin: outstanding performance by an orchestra; Hannah Gaither, outstanding performance by a female ensemble member; Rachel Altemose, outstanding performance by a featured dancer;outstanding choreography; and outstanding overall production by a smaller school.
