Harold S. Smith, 81, of Schnecksville, died May 1, 2015, in his home.

He and his wife Christine D. (Kuhns) Smith were married 54 years last July 30.

Born Feb. 27, 1934, in South Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late George E. and Stella I. (Kehm) Smith.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

A maintenance mechanic for the Parkland School District for 18 years, he retired in 1997.

Prior to that, he was a framer for Curtis E. Schneck Inc., Schnecksville.

He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by children Glenn H. and his wife, Tammy, of Coplay, Neal D. and his wife, Tai Nguyen, of Florida, Karen C. Smith of South Carolina; siblings Victor G. Smith, Anna Weller, Erma Firestone and Edna Schaller; grandchildren Sierra, Asia, Shelby, Jessica and Eric; and great-granddaughter Layla.

His funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. May 8, in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. Allan Kramer-Moyer officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
