Susan Elizabeth Moore

Susan Elizabeth Moore, 85, died on April 26, 2015, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Wichita, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Zachary and Marguerite Taylor.

The family moved to New York City, N.Y., when she was a child, then to suburban Washington, D.C.

Upon her father's death, she moved to Topeka, Kan., where she met and married Donald E. Moore.

During most of their 65 years together, the Moores lived and worked in New York City.

In 1990, they retired and moved to Tucson, Ariz., and, then in 2007, they became residents of Luther Crest Retirement Community, South Whitehall.

In the 1970s and '80s, she was director of three preschool child development centers in Brooklyn, N.Y., then became director of volunteers of Brooklyn's Prospect Park.

She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Stephen and his wife, Christine, of Framingham, Mass.; daughter Leslie Dennis and husband, Patrick of Lake Ariel; granddaughters Elizabeth (Liz) Moore of Philadelphia and Rebecca Moore of New Orleans, La.; grandsons Douglas and Andrew Dennis and six great-grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. May 8, at Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall Township, with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Werley and the Rev. Dianne Kareha officiating.

Interment will be private.
