Fountain Hill: Hires made without full discussion

The latest Fountain Hill Council meeting may have been brief but it was not without fiery discussion. On the subject of hiring new Public Works employees, the interviews were not conducted before the entire council and some members felt the sting of neglect.

"Was I aware we were interviewing?" asked vice president Norman Blatt, who was caught off guard. "I don't like the secrecy. This is supposed to be a council decision."

After more heated discussion council member Fred Capuano retorted to Blatt, "You got an attitude and I don't wanna use a word to describe it," having had enough of the unsavory comments thrown into the air.

After the council passed the motion to hire two of several interviewed men, council member Helen Halleman had the last words, "I agree to the person you hired, but I don't agree with how you did it."
