An "Afternoon Of Favorites From Our Repertory," the New Street Dance Group (NSDG) sixth self-produced concert, will be presented at 3:30 p.m. May 3, Touchstone Theatre, 321 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem.
"We are thrilled to go 'home' to Touchstone Theatre for this performance," says NSDG Co-Director Shannon Dooling.
On the program is "Tripled," the first work performed by the group. Also on the program is "Trend Lines," which premiered as a solo for founding company member Lauren Post at "Cabaret Nights," a showcase hosted by the Lehigh Valley Dance Exchange.
It was later revised into a duet for Post and Mary Wayock, which they performed at The Banana Factory's Crayola Gallery, Bethlehem. The latest iteration is a "double duet," which will feature DeSales University students MaryKate Selby and Jackie McCreavy alongside Post and Wayock.
NSDG's Artist-in-Residence, musician Jonathan Cain, will make his Lehigh Valley debut in the local premiere of "Improvisation No. 5," a "duet for dancer and cellist," which he created and performs with Dooling.
Local dancers and dance enthusiasts age 12 and over are invited to participate in NSDG's first Community Project in the Lehigh Valley region by attending a Choreography Workshop, 2 - 5 p.m. May 2, Dolly Haltzman Dance Academy, 6426 Memorial Road, Kuhnsville.
