It's prom season and Salisbury High School prom tickets are on sale now. Senior sale days are over, so prom tickets are available to anyone wishing to purchase them. There are less than 200 tickets available. Tickets can be purchased between the hours of 7 and 7:30 a.m. and during Falcon periods and all lunch periods. Seniors may purchase two tickets, but must supply the name of the guest for whom the ticket is being purchased.

Congratulations to German III students Zachary Karounos, Max Kuscan and Chris Trenge for their video winning second place at German Day 2015 at Penn State University. Good job, guys. Another big congratulations to the SHS Debate Team consisting of Carolyn Boulay, Kierra Burda, Marisa Butillo, Catherine Kenyon and Ben Wiener for taking first place in the Colonial League.

Marywood University and Catawba College will visit SHS April 30. A representative from Marywood will visit 9:30 a.m. and a representative from Catawba will visit 1:05 p.m. The representatives will meet with interested juniors and seniors to discuss admissions, majors and other topics relating to campus life. Students who are interested in meeting with these representatives should obtain a pass from the school counseling office no later than April 29.

SHS mid-marking for the fourth quarter is May 11.

The SHS spring choral and instrumental concert is 7 p.m. May 12 in the auditorium. Go and support the district's music program and listen to some spring music to get you in the mood for warmer weather.

SHS will administer Keystone exams for selected students in grades nine through 11 for two weeks during the month of May. Algebra test dates are May 13 and 14, biology test dates are May 18 and 19 and literature test dates are May 20 and 21. On May 13 there will be a two and a half hour delay for SHS students. Testing students will report to SHS at the regular time (7:35 a.m. with transportation provided) and all other students will report at 10:05 a.m. Students who are not testing should report to their bus stops two and a half hours later than their scheduled morning pick-up time.

For all other test dates, the high school will run on a two-hour delay schedule. Testing students should report to school at the regular time, while all other students will report two hours later 9:35 a.m. Students who are not testing should report to their bus stops two hours later than their scheduled morning pick-up time. There is no change in schedule for LCTI students, and CAP and Academic students will be testing there.

Parents and community members are invited to engage in a conversation with our new administrators, Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss, superintendent, and Lynn Fuini-Hetten, assistant superintendent. Ziegenfuss and Fuini-Hetten are running a coffee and conversation meeting 10 to 11 a.m. May 15 and 6 to 7 p.m. May 18 at the Salisbury Township School District Administration Building. RSVP for this event is requested by May 13 to Mary Bishop at mbishop@stsd.org or call 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.
