EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN
"I love taking tests, gonna put an A in the grade book, teacher. " Ahhh the song of the PSSA's, which the Harry S Truman Elementary students in third through fifth grades continue to take. The math sections will continue through April 24. This will be followed by the science sections April 27 through May 1. PSSA make-ups will be the week of May 4 through 8. This schedule also applies to Salisbury Middle School students in sixth through eighth grades. Please make sure children are getting plenty of sleep and eating a good breakfast before school.
There will be an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. May 4 in the administration building.
The next meeting of the HST PTO will be 7 p.m. May 4.
HST field day for first and second grades will be held 1 p.m. May 5. The makeup day, should the weather not cooperate, is May 20. Look for paperwork coming home shortly if you offered to volunteer for field day.
The HST spring concert for third grade and the chorus is 2 p.m. May 7.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 and 28.
The curbside branch collection for township residents will continue through April 24. Branches should be no longer than five feet, bundled together with twine and placed curbside after 6 p.m. Small twigs may be placed in a container without a lid for collection.
There will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit Salisbury Softball 8 to 10 a.m. April 25 at Salisbury High School. This all-you-can-eat breakfast is hosted by both the Salisbury varsity and junior high teams. There is a charge. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, assorted juices and coffee. Come out and show your support.
Salisbury Township and the City of Allentown will be working together for the 2015 Clean-up Illegal Dump project 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 at the Lehigh Mountain Walking Purchase Park. This will be held along Constitution Drive and Riverside Drive. Everyone will meet at Fearless Fire Company, 1221 S. Front St., Allentown, and then will caravan to the sites.
