Virginia M. Hovatter, 91, formerly of New Tripoli, died April 9, 2015, in Liberty Nursing Center, Allentown.

Born in Barbour County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Teddie R. and Mae (Shahan) Hovatter Sr.

She graduated from the Baltimore City Hospital practical nursing program in 1954 and was an LPN for Baltimore City Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and for a hospital in Daytona, Fla.

She retired from Johns Hopkins and moved to New Tripoli.

Her survivors include a sister Beverly H. Levy of Welch, W.Va.; brother Donald F. of Lebanon, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Anna Lee Merrill, Billy W., Teddy R. Jr., James E. and Karen Stevens.

Her graveside service and interment will take place 2 p.m. April 16, in the Jerusalem "Red" Church Cemetery, 15 Red Church Road, Kempton.
