Robert S. Williams, 83, of Bethlehem, died March 30, 2015. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William and Mabel (Naylor) Williams. He was the husband of Hilda H. (Stubits) Williams for 50 years.
He was a 1949 graduate of Liberty HS. He earned a bachelor's degree from East Stroudsburg University and a master's degree from Temple University.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He taught biology and was a head track coach at Liberty for more than 30 years before retiring in 1992.
He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
He belonged to the St. Joseph's Sick and Beneficial Society. He bowled with the Thursday Night Outers at the Sokols Club for many years. He was a ticket taker for sporting events at Liberty and with District 11.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol and her husband Francis Lawrence of Bethlehem, and Barbara and her husband Frank Clymer Jr. of Bethlehem Township; a brother, Frederick D. Williams of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Lawrence and Jarrett and Ashley Clymer; nieces; and nephews.
