UPS honors local safe driver
Michael Blasko, of Bethlehem, was recently inducted into United Parcel Services's Circle of Honor for achieving 25 years of accident-free driving. Globally, 7,878 active UPS drivers are members of the Circle of Honor.
Collectively, they've racked up more than 221,000 years and more than 5.3 billion safe miles during their careers, enough miles to travel to Mars and back 36 times.
Resident is Misericordia presenter
Alyssa Leonard, of Bethlehem, a Misericordia University student, and four other students will present "Development of a Memory Clinic for Older Adults: Promoting Productive Aging" research results at the 96th annual American Occupational Therapy Association conference in Nashville, Tenn., in April.
The research was conducted during the spring 2014 semester at the Mercy Center in Dallas Township. The purpose of the research was to discover if cognitive training can prevent, maintain and/or restore cognitive function through neuroplasticity – the human brain's ability to change for better or worse at any age.
McCornak in "Little Women"
Kali McCornak, of Bethlehem, will be seen in the role of Aunt March at 8 p.m. April 16 to 18 in the Misericordia Players presentation of "Little Women, The Broadway musical" at Lemmond Theater, Walsh Hall, Misericordia College.

Basilio A. Bonilla Jr. joins NALEO
Bethlehem Area School District board of directors member Basilio A. Bonilla Jr. joined the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Educational Fund for a March 25 meeting in Washington, D.C.
The organizatio focused on school governance skill training and development aimed at making participants more effective advocates for their students and communities.
The Policy Institute on School Governance event provided Latino public servants with the enhanced capacity and governance skills to become effective advocates for their students, families, and communities.
The program sponsors were Title Sponsors, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and State Farm.
Cops 'N Kids to be honored
Community Services for Children will present The Inez and Edward Donley Award for Children's Advocacy to Michelle Zenie, Pediatric Cancer Foundation executive director, and Beverly Bradley, with Cops 'n' Kids, at noon April 17 at DeSales University Center.
CSC established the award to acknowledge public service at the local, state and/or national levels which has significantly improved the quality of life for children. The Donleys, for whom the award was named, were the first recipients.
