LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Paula Escott, Liberty HS

Grade: 12

Family members: My family members are my mom, Rebecca, my dad, Dave, and my younger siblings, Elizabeth and Dawson.

Favorite subject: My favorite subjects are chemistry and anatomy. I love science, hands-on learning and challenging myself in class, all of which these two classes provide.

Activities: I play field hockey, the piccolo in band, sing in chorus and a capella, compete in Science Olympiad and am the theater leader and president of National Honor Society.

Next steps: After high school, I plan on going to college to study chemistry and Spanish.

Career goals: After college, I plan on going to medical school and working with global health initiatives.

Heroes: My mom is one of my heroes, because she has set an example for me of the right way to act, and shown me how to be a good mother and an intelligent working woman. My Grandpa is also one of my heroes, because he has worked hard every day his whole life running his farm, and he lives out his strong moral convictions every day.

Hobbies: I love to cook and bake, hike and do outdoor activities.

Current job(s): I work in the nursery at my church and babysit regularly for neighbors.

Volunteer/community work: I work with BASD mini-THON to raise money for pediatric cancer. I also do service projects throughout Bethlehem through my church.

Likes: I love pizza, Grey's Anatomy, Monday Night Football, reading a good book, and movie nights with my family (with popcorn!).

Dislikes: I dislike mushrooms, cleaning my room, waking up early and cleaning the snow off my car.

Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment academically so far has been becoming a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition, and hopefully I will become a finalist!

Advice for peers: Remember to have fun and don't get so focused on school and the future that you don't get to enjoy the present.
