HEALTH NOTES

Lehigh Valley

L.V.H.N. chosen by Valley Preferred

Lehigh Valley Health Network has been named as the new health care provider for the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. LVHN will provide medical direction on-site at the cycling center and train junior, elite and professional athletes at LVHN One City Center, Allentown.

There will be a Gear Up Academy, developed by Marty Nothstein, with guidance and additional health and wellness coaching from LVHN teams.

Athletes and competitors who train at the cycling center will be given access to LVHN's sports medicine destination facility and fitness programs at One City Center for biomechanical and physiological testing. The sports performance suite has Wattbikes, developed in partnership with British Cycling, and designed to feel like riding a real bike with scientifically accurate training data.

Orthopedic surgeon Neal Stansbury, M.D., medical director of the VPCC, and other LVHN sports medicine providers and athletic trainers, will staff all VPCC's World Series of Bicycling events.
