Ruby V. Schaeffer, 89, of Emmaus, died March 29, 2015, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ernest C. Schaeffer who died Jan. 12, 1982. Born in Vera Cruz, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Kline) Engelman.

She was a member of Vera Cruz Evangelical Congregational Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts.

She is survived by children, David W. and his wife Judy, of Allentown, and Deborah J. Orach, of Emmaus; three grandsons; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathryn Rauch, Martha Conrad, Mary Batman, Ruth Schantz and James Engelman. She was predeceased by a daughter, baby girl Schaeffer, and siblings, Jesse Engelman, Dorothy Walbert, Evelyn Tworkoski and Ronald Engelman.
