"The End Of The Civil War And The Death Of Abraham Lincoln" is the topic of a slide lecture, 1 p.m. April 11, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.
"April 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War, the surrender of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia and the end of slavery," said Joseph Garrera, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum Executive Director.
The multi-media presentation will explore the assassination and then transport the audience from the Washington, D.C., departure of the nine-car funeral train April 21, 1865, through Baltimore and Harrisburg, into Philadelphia, up to New York City, and back to the western prairies Lincoln called home.
