Local track teams post wins

Freedom High School's girls track and field team scored a 83-52 victory over East Stroudsburg South last week.

Top finishers for the Patriots were Morgan Weaver in the 200 meter in 27.2, and Gia Erie in the shot put with a distance of 34-08.00 and the discus with a distance of 87-09.

Sydney Hoover, Morgan Weaver, Sierra Jefferson, and Mary Boglioli also placed first in the 4x1 relay in 54.7.

Liberty's girls scored two victories last week, one against Central Catholic by a score of 95.5-54.5 and one over East Stroudsburg North by a score of 101-49.

Naomi Valladares won the 800 meter in 2:45.0, Olivia Sahaydak won the 1600 meter in 5:37.0, and Raisa Kochmaruk won the 3200 meter in 11:44.0, all for the Hurricanes.

Also taking first place for Liberty were Rashana Tompkins in the 100 meter hurdles in 15.8, Rachel Finn in the pole vault at 11-00.00, Kaylin West in the long jump with a distance of 16-10.50 and the triple jump with a distance of 35-05.75, Sydney Wilson in the shot put with a distance of 32-01.00, and Eleni Prodes in the javelin with a distance of 100-01.

Finn, Jaylyne Aminu, West, and Grace Mittl won the 4x1 relay for Liberty with a time of 49.7.

Liberty's boys survived a close call with Central Catholic, defeating the Vikings 77-72.

Sam Belony, Anthony Miller, Josiah Wright, and Yasim Jackson took first place in the 4x4 relay in 3:41.0.

Trevor Jones won the pole vault at 9-03.00, Darius Jones placed first in the long jump with a distance of 20-04.50 and the triple jump with a distance of 44-03.75, and Casey Clearie won the javelin with a distance of 173-07.
