EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Harry S Truman students present a spring concert April 9
So happy to finally see the sun and feel the wind....Spring is finally here. Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather after the rough winter we had.
The first and second grades will present a spring concert 2 p.m. April 9 at Harry S Truman Elementary School.
As we enter April, this means PSSA testing will begin in our district schools. Students in third through eighth grades will begin PSSA testing April 13. Testing will begin with language arts/English April 13 through 17. Math testing will begin April 20 and continue through April 24. This will be followed by PSSA testing for science April 27 through May 1. May 4 through 8 will be used for any PSSA makeup tests needed.
Remember during these weeks to talk to your child, keep them motivated and ensure they eat breakfast to perform their best. I know my daughter has already begun to stress about these tests.
There will be a curriculum committee meeting 7 p.m. April 13 in the administrative building, 1140 Salisbury Road.
The first grade students have invited parents and guardians to lunch April 13. Please look for information to be sent home.

Eastern Salisbury Fire Department is conducting a candle sale to raise funds for materials and upcoming programs. The fundraiser continues through May 4.
If you would like to support your local department, visit yankeecandlefundraising.com and enter group #990077947. Remember to burn candles in a safe place and to extinguish the candles if you will not be home to prevent an unexpected visit from your fire department.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m April 11 and 14. This is a great place to drop off yard waste as we all begin to do lawn work.
