BC tennis remains unbeaten

Bethlehem Catholic High School's tennis team is currently 5-0, having defeated Notre Dame East Stroudsburg most recently, this past Monday.

Becahi's closest matches were at number one singles and number four doubles.

Niko Franekic defeated Brant Weirich 7-5, 6-3 at number one singles.

Regarding the close score in the first set, Franekic said, "It seems like, in the beginning of the season, I have some trouble settling down. We were on serve for awhile. He was good, and he could get the ball back. He was really quick."

The second set was characterized by neither player being able to hold his serve until Franekic finally did.

"I had one good passing shot [in the second set], he came to the net, and I hit a shot down the line with my forehand," said Franekic.

At number two singles, Ryan Schmidt defeated Zach Acosta 6-0, 6-0, and at number three singles, Peter Demyan defeated Jose Bordas 6-0, 6-1.

The Hawks also won all doubles matches.

Franekic and Schmidt won 8-2 at number one doubles, Luke Mesko and John Corley won 6-0, 6-0 at number two doubles, Henery Gao and David Napierkowski won 6-0, 6-0 at number three doubles, and Jack Jiang and Hesshanth Jeydranghan won 7-5, 6-0 at number four doubles.
