Miriam E. Gower Hausman

Miriam E. Gower Hausman, 95, of Lehighton, died March 26, 2015, in The Summit at Blue Mountain, Lehighton.

She was the wife of the late Allen W. Hausman and Harold H. Gower.

Born Oct. 17, 1919, in Washington Township, she was the daughter of the late Victor H. and Emma T. (Grammes) Hoffman.

A sewing machine operator for the former Scotties Textile Mill, Lehighton, for many years before retiring, she enjoyed making clothing, crocheting and making crafts.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Her survivors include children RoseAnn D. Mowery, Bruce P. Gower and his wife, Ann, Llewellyn C. Gower and his wife, Darlene, all of Lehighton; siblings Emma Hittner of Palmerton, Helen Serfass of Delaware, Josephine Gower of Kunkletown, Ella Kunkle of Arizona, Margaret Kluck of Gilbert, Preston Hoffman of Pen Argyl, Richard Hoffman of Saylorsburg, Harold Hoffman of Kunkletown; stepchildren Virginia Beck of Allentown, Joanne Lesher of Topton, Ronald W. Hausman of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra L. Mowery; two grandsons; five brothers and one sister.
