So far through three games the Parkland girls lacrosse team hasn't had any problems outscoring opponents.

For the third consecutive game, the Trojans eclipsed the 20-goal mark in taking down Northampton Tuesday afternoon at Troxell Middle School, 20-3 for a 3-0 start to the season under new head coach Dawn Cipolla.

"She's worked with all of us since a young age with the Schnecksville program," said Galli. "She knows each of us and what we are good at and how to capitalize on that."

Parkland started fast with a plethora of chances on net that led to goals early and often in the first half.

Cat Gaffney opened the scoring with the first of her three goals. Three other players also recorded a hat trick. Sophie Castillo and Sarah Staggard had three with Mackenzie Galli scoring four.

Lexi Rice, Maddie Pope and Jenny Zawada were the other first-half goal scorers. Before the Konkrete Kids could even blink, they were down 9-0.

"We're all so strong and talented," said Galli. "We're just able to put it all together and it's been working well so far."

Emily Henry did all she could to keep her team in the game, single-handedly taking the ball and running up and down the field. Her first half goal was the lone bright spot for Northampton as they trailed 13-1 at halftime.

Just as the teams began to take the field for the second half, the skies opened and it began to precipitate a mixture of snow and rain. Was that a bad omen for the Trojans? It started off that way.

Henry opened the first five minutes with two goals, and even a 13-3 lead brought Parkland a little anxiety.

But then Galli, just as she has always done, stepped up and broke the scoreless stretch for her team.

After that goal, the Trojans being seeing the ball go into the back of the net at will. Even the young players had it going. The freshmen duo of Camryn Barnett and Abby Pope (2 goals) connected on a goal. Barnett, who also assisted on Galli's second half opener, scored one of her own in the period.

Once again the defense was solid in front of goal keeper Brie Barraco, who made five saves. Sage Barnett had an interception to end the game. Ana Emrick tallied a goal and three assists in the win.
