Miller Hts. ES: Related Arts showcase Miller Heights ES will hold a related arts showcase from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 9 at the school. It will highlight student learning in the art, music, instrumental music, academic integration and library classrooms. Families are invited to observe and participate in activities at their own pace.

Nitschmann: Social issues meeting April 2

The Leadership Lehigh Valley team will hold a meeting April 2 about combatting social issues from 8:45 a.m. to noon at Nitschmann MS, 909 W. Union Blvd.

The event covers the social challenges facing middle school students, including stress, depression, prescription drug use, heroin addiction, cyber bullying and social media behaviors. There will be a panel discussion and a Dr. Paul Pierpoint, vice president of community education at Northampton Community College, will speak. The Weller Center will provide a program on stress and depression. To attend the event, email emcguire@basdschools.org.
