EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Easter egg hunt to be held March 28
Welcome to spring and hopefully the last snow related early dismissal from school. I don't know about you, but I have been eagerly awaiting spring.
The Salisbury Recreation Advisory Committee will again host an Easter Egg Hunt at Lindberg Park 10 a.m. March 28.
Harry S Truman Elementary School sent report cards home March 24. This year is flying by.
Kindergarten conferences at both elementary schools will be held March 25. HST will have early dismissals March 26 through 31 for parent teacher conferences. Please take advantage of this time to see how your children are doing this year in school. I'm sure they are all working very hard.
The Salisbury Township School District will be open for school April 1 and 2, with early dismissals both days for the elementary schools 1 p.m. and the middle and high school dismissing 12:15 p.m. These days will be used to make up a couple of snow days for the year.
There is no school April 3 and 6 for a shortened spring break.
HST will hold the first and second grade spring concert 2 p.m. April 9. Look for information to be sent home if you have a child in those classes.
The HST PTO Easter flowers may be picked up the week of March 30.
The HST PTO Mother's Day flower sale offers options for ordering flowers or purchasing coupons for hanging baskets or flats of flowers. These flowers will be available for pick-up the first week of May. Support the HST PTO and get your spring gardening started.
Come join the HST PTO for a night of fun and excitement with your family and friends to try your luck at winning candy during a game of bingo 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 10 in the HST cafeteria. There is no admission to play bingo. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
HST is partnering with the Mountainville Lions Club to offer a child identification CD which is Amber Alert certified. This event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 52 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. This is a free service offered by the Mountainville Lions Club; however, it is limited in the amount that can be provided in the 4-hour event. All children must be registered via the paperwork sent home from school.
This year's yearbook is now on sale. Orders and money must be returned by April 20. All yearbooks will be delivered before the end of the school year.
The Franko Farm yard waste site will be open for the first time this year 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28 and 31.
