Saucon Valley School District board members voted Feb. 10 to conduct a facilities study.
District Superintendent Monica McHall-Small said a proposal for the study should be completed to determine how much it will cost for such a plan.
According to McHall-Small, the windows in the high school are aged and the condition of the roofs have deteriorated over time.
The study will also look at how district facilities can and will handle the potential of full day kindergarten in the future.
"I think it is a good idea to get some assistance prioritizing those things," she told the board.
Board member Bryan Eichfeld said he is opposed to a far-reaching proposal from an outside source. He said he would like the district to reduce the scope of the request.
Board member Sandra Miller expressed support for the proposal, saying she prefers the district to rely on the advice of experts.
The board will present the updated proposal at a later meeting.
