Library is preparing for its 50th
We are currently getting ready for our 50th anniversary of the library.
The kick-off party for the 50th will take place Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at the library.

On Saturday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. through Sunday, March 22 at noon, the library will upgrade its server.
Due to the work involved, all online services will be unavailable during this time. This includes our online catalog, the "My Account" feature and any databases that require access using a library card and PIN.
No library material will be due Friday, March 20 through Tuesday, March 24.

An adult book discussion will take place on the first Tuesday and Thursday in April and May.
The April book talk, "Loving Frank" by Nancy Horan, will take place Thursday, April 2, 6-7 p.m., and Tuesday, April 7, 1-2 p.m.
The May book talk, "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater; Or, Pearls Before Swine" by Kurt Vonnegut, will take place Tuesday, May 5, 1-2 p.m. and Thursday, May 7, 6-7 p.m.

The library and the Whitehall Lions Club are participating in a joint community project.
There are boxes in the library for patrons to drop off donated items for the local animal shelter, Peaceable Kingdom.
The Lions Club will take the items to Peaceable Kingdom.

On the first Friday of every month, the Pennsylvania Department of Health will provide free blood pressure screenings at the library.
The screenings are scheduled for April 3, May 1, June 5 and July 3.

A Facebook for Seniors class will be held Monday, March 30, 2-3 p.m., in the community room.
Anyone may attend, but the aim is to assist individuals 55 and older in how to use Facebook.
Systems Librarian Jim Gilbert will teach you how to register for an account, log in and upload photos.

There will be a genealogy overview Thursday, March 26, 1-3 p.m., and Monday, March 30, 6-8 p.m.
Library Director Patty Vahey will review two of the resources available for family history research, Ancestry Online and Heritage Quest.
