Meals elects new board members

Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County elected four new board members: financial advisor, Cassandra Alleyne of Stifel Investments; hospitality and food service management, Michael Daley of Sodexo@Moravian Square; CPA, Cindy Merritt of Buckno Lisicky and Company; and account executive Kenneth R. Nitroy Jr. of Edwards Business System. Officers for the 2015 term are Michael Santanasto, president; Julie Profilet-Saucier, vice-president; Joy Buckley Reed, secretary; and Lisa M. Oldt, treasurer.

The annual Community Partnership Award was given to to Asbury United Methodist Church. The delivery team members, who cover one delivery route every Thursday, are Evelyn Hart, coordinator, Shirley Baxter, Lucretia Crandell, Judy Ehninger, Bill Hart, Virginia Myers, Manly Offutt and Peg Samois. Chuck Ehninger and Eilenn Dolcin are substitutes. They have been delivering meals since February 16, 2006 and have logged 5,107 miles and 1,706 hours.

Scomillio a candidate for judge

Attorney Victor E. Scomillio, a Palmer Township resident and partner with Holzinger, Harak & Scomillio law firm in Bethlehem, has announced his candidacy for Judge of the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas in the 2015 election.

He started his career as a judicial law clerk to Judge Robert E. Simpson, Jr. when he served on the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas. He has an active and diverse private practice, representing individuals and businesses as both plaintiffs and defendants. He has represented clients in complex and serious criminal cases privately and as a court-appointed attorney for over 15 years.

He is a 1997 graduate of the Dickinson School of Law, now of the Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the Northampton County Bar Association of which he was the 2012 president. He was a youth sports coach and a Scout leader. He is a member of service organizations including UNICO, Roseto Chapter and Knights of Columbus.
