Patricia A. Innis M.D.
Patricia A. Strausser (Lockner) Innis M.D. died peacefully Feb. 24, 2015, in Allentown.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Clayton E. Strausser and Thelma E. (Diehm) Strausser.
She was married to Frank P. Innis Jr., also of Reading.
A graduate of Reading High School, the Johns Hopkins University, and the McGill University Faculty of Medicine, she practiced family medicine for many years in Reading and for a period of time in King of Prussia.
She was at various times on the staffs of Reading Hospital, Community General Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Norristown Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital, in Norristown.
An early diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, she maintained that credential until some years after her retirement.
She also was a charter Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a lifetime member of the American Society of Family Physicians and a member of the Berks County Medical Society, The Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
She was an assistant manager of clinic drug safety at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical Company, for several years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Maria Therese Emert and husband, Stephen, of Allentown, son Patrick M. Lockner of Virginia, and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by daughter Margaret A.E. Lockner (Stone Carson) Innis in 2013.
Contributions may be made in honor of her love for all God's creatures to The Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon St., Allentown, PA 18103, for the benefit of homeless animals.
