Curtis W. Schmoyer
Curtis W. Schmoyer, 93, of South Whitehall Township, died Feb. 14, 2015, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Frankenfield) Schmoyer.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Franklin G. and Meda M. (Wert) Schmoyer.
A 1939 graduate of Allentown High School, he was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater.
He was a tool maker and tool inspector at the former Western Electric from 1946-83.
A member of Hope United Church of Christ, Allentown, he was also a member of the former Faith UCC, where he was a deacon and consistory member, member of the Over-The-Hill gang, and was called "Mr. Faith Church" by many.
He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His dog, Elsa, brought special joy in the past year.
He loved life, fishing, gardening and believed "He who thinks he can do a thing can do it".
His survivors include daughters Kathleen A., widow of Jeffrey Mattes of Harrisburg, Susan B. and her husband, James Plummer, of Doylestown, Nancy J. Schmoyer of Allentown; grandchildren Michelle Mattes Heinbaugh and her husband Richard, Michael J. Mattes and his wife Susan, Kristen Plummer Rossi and her husband Marc, A.J. Plummer and his wife Rong; great-grandchildren Jackson and Addison Heinbaugh, Owen Mattes, Joseph and Caroline Rossi.
He was predeceased by a brother Woodrow and by a sister Myrtle Solt.
