BASD: Art show April 12

There will be a Bethlehem Area School District K-12 grades student art exhibit during the month of April at the Bethlehem City Hall Gallery Rotunda, 10 E. Church St. There will be an opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. April 12.

BASD: Mini-THON set for April 11

Mini-THON Save the date: this year's BASD mini-Thon will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 11 at Liberty High School. Come and join the fun while supporting a great fundraiser.

BASD: I-Heart Week Feb. 17 to 20

The Bethlehem Area School District Special Education Department is celebrating Inclusion Week from Feb.17 to 20.

All schools will be teaching a lesson about inclusion to all students. Each student will fill out a template sharing what " an inclusive school means..." on a heart template. Each school will be hanging the hearts in their lobbies, cafeterias and other public spaces.

In addition, each school will be conducting one other activity to celebrate inclusionary practices during the week. There is also an essay contest. The resource website is https://sites.google.com/a/basdschools.org/iheartinclusion.

BASD: Dun & Bradstreet makes donation

Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corporation has made a donation of $32,355 to the Bethlehem Area School District to help grow its science, technology, engineering, and math initiative, which prepares students for higher education and careers in the STEM fields.

This is the second year that the company has made a contribution.

The funds will be used for the Project Lead the Way initiative at both Freedom and Liberty HS. The four-year series introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering and the medical field prior to entering college.

BASD: Resources Officers fundraiser

The School Resource Officers of Liberty HS and Nitschmann, Broughal, Northeast and East Hills MS are having a t-shirt sale. Profits will be used towards future training opportunities.

The short sleeve tshirt will be Gildan brand, navy blue in color, white lettering, sizes range from small to 2XL. FOr cost and information, email smolnar@bethlehem-pa.gov. Cash only, payment due at time of delivery.

Freedom: Swim team fundraiser

The Freedom HS Patriot Swimming & Diving team will earn a 15 percent donation when the team is mentioned at the time of ordering from Sicily Pizza, 4460 Easton Ave., through February 28.

Liberty: Psych Club fundraiser

Liberty HS Psychology Club will hold a fundraiser at Moe's Southwest Grille, Schoenersville Road, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 25. If a customer mentions the club, a portion of their sale will be donated to the club.

Liberty: A Night in N.Y., N.Y.

A Night in New York, New York fundraising gala event to benefit the theatre arts at Liberty HS will be held at 7 p.m. March 6. Reservation deadline is Feb. 27.

There will be music and entertainment by current and past Liberty Theatre members, a basket raffle and hors d'oeuvres and mocktails by Island Expressions.
