The kitchen committee of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will be preparing a pork and sauerkraut dinner 4-7 p.m. Feb. 28.

Menu includes mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, applesauce, roll and butter, beverage and dessert, as well as the pork and sauerkraut.

It's time for shoofly pies at Northern Valley EMS, NOVA.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will present an Italian, buffet-style dinner 4-7 p.m. March 7.

Menu includes baked ziti, chicken marsala, pasta with Alfredo, sausage, or marinara sauce, salad, breadsticks, cake and beverages.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or through the church office. Take-out will be available.

The youth of Union Lutheran Church are collecting clothing, toys and household items 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 7; 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. March 8; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9 and 10.

In addition to wearable clothing for all seasons, accessories such as belts, purses, backpacks, shoes, and boots are included in the collection.

Fabric household items such as blankets, sheets, pillows, tablecloths, towels, and small rugs are appreciated.

The project also includes collection of toy cars, trucks, and airplanes, action figures, soft animals and dolls, and bicycles.
