The Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will award two $1,000 scholarships from the Bob Warke – Dale Horn Scholarship Program.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a class of 2015 graduate, be continuing their education fall of 2015, have participated in HPPA's basketball, softball or baseball youth programs and have handed in a completed scholarship application form to HPPA by Feb. 28.

From Feb. 18 through March 1, the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will organize and run the 28th anniversary Bob Warke – Dale Horn Basketball Tournament held at Whitehall Middle School.

From now until Wednesday, April 15, AARP tax-aides will be at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church helping with tax returns.

You must make an appointment by visiting the church Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in order to use this service.

Mark your calendars for Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church's 11th Annual Basket Social.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the drawing on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

On Monday, March 9, at 7 p.m., the Whitehall Women's Club will have its meeting at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Members will be honoring the Whitehall High School Girl of the Month.
