"'Pippin' is a good fit with our students. It's about young people trying to find their path through life," says Sal Ritz, director of the musical being staged at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 - 28 and 2 p.m. March 1 at Saucon Valley High School, 2100 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown.
Music director-orchestra conductor is Herb Payung. Vocal director is Chad Miller. Choreographer is Joanellyn Schubert.
In the musical, an acrobatic troupe of performers, led by Diana Nicholas (Lead Player-Storyteller) and Dominic Behe (Prince Pippin I) and Davis Weaver (Prince Pippin II) look for passion and adventure in their lives. The play has alternating princes for the performances.
"Pippin" is a Tony Award-winning musical with original music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. Bob Fosse directed the original Broadway production in 1972.
