Marilyn Dorothy Heffernan, 83, formerly of Limeport, died Feb. 5, 2015. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Pauline (Smith) Swikert. She was the wife of the late John J. Heffernan Jr.

She was a private and commercial artist.

Active in many clubs and organizations in the Lehigh Valley, she helped at the local polling stations for elections.

She is survived by three sons, John J. III of North Wales, William and his wife Karen of Perkasie and David and his wife Sherri of Whitehall; three daughters, Holly Stackhouse of Bethlehem, Jay and her husband Matthew Staples of Whitehouse Station, N.J., and Candace Ann and her husband Christopher Novak of Upper Saucon Township; 10 grandchildren, Justine, Eric and Melanie Novak, Morgan Staples, William and Wesley Heffernan, Tanya Tumas, Michael Stackhouse, Anglia Heffernan and Tiffany Cummings.

She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Swikert.
