Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a brief worship service 7 p.m. Feb. 17, on Shrove Tuesday.
Afterward, attendees can enjoy homemade fastnachts, the real Pa. German treats, fried while you wait and served warm. There will be some to take home, too.
On Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, Union Lutheran begins a six-week video series, "Making Sense of the Bible." The videos will be shown at the 7 p.m. mid-week worship services during Lent.
Beginning Feb. 25, everyone is invited to the free soup and bread suppers from 6-6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center, prior to the Lenten worship services.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will have a Shrove Tuesday supper and social evening 6 p.m. Feb. 17.
Menu includes pancakes, sausage, applesauce and fastnachts.
At 7 p.m., Tootsie the Clown's show will provide entertainment for all ages.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, with a service at 7 p.m.
Interim Pastor Allan Kramer-Moyer offers some thoughts on Lent.
"The season of Lent is traditionally a time of introspection and reflection," Kramer-Moyer said.
"It's a time to take stock of our lives and examine where we are in need of new life and resurrection."
On Feb. 22, Union UCC will have a time for family fun and fellowship following the 10:30 a.m. service.
After a lunch of pizza, salad, beverages and dessert, everyone is invited to construct a resurrection garden in a dish with items supplied by the church.

The Ash Wednesday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will be at 7:30 p.m.
St. John's has organized a fundraiser for the people of Monte Margarita, Guatemala, who are in need of a place where they can receive medical care.
The planned facility will have offices, classrooms and much needed clean water.
On Feb. 22, Sunday School children at St. John's and anyone else who wants to help will be given a water bottle penny bank.
Participants are asked to place a penny in the bottle each time they use water.
When using water for any activities, children are encouraged to think about how fortunate they are to have safe, clean water, which friends in Guatemala do not have.
The bottles and any additional donations will go toward the UCC Penn Northeast Conference Amigos de Guatemala building fund.
Save the date, Feb. 28. St. John's will have a pork and sauerkraut supper.

On Feb. 22, the fire company will have an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
