Catherine N. Ternigan, of Allentown, died February 6, 2015. Born in Clifton, N.J., she was a daughter of Delia and John Pekaar. She was the wife of the late Frank Ternigan for 61 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem.

She received the Community Spirit Award for her leadership as the coordinator of the Volunteer Friends of Lehigh County Prison for women. She organized educational and recreational programs and helped women find homes and jobs in the community.

She is survived by three children, Cathleen and Robert Ternigan of Allentown, and Jane Ternigan Henley of Key Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kyle Henley of Golden, Colo., Karis Kemp of Sun Valley, Idaho, and Kaleb Henley of Stockholm, Sweden; and six great-grandchildren, Sydney and Darcie Henley; Elias and Bennett Kemp and Arvid and Albert Henley.
