Liberty's girls swim team had their revenge against Easton last week in the Hurricanes 99-84 victory over the Red Rovers at Liberty.
Hurricane senior, Anita Kundu, said, "They beat us last year because of their four-lane pool. They never choose eight [when they are here] because they know we have depth. Second and third [places] can add up to more than first place in a six-lane pool."
In the first individual event of the meet, Liberty had a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free, led by Jocelyn Baker with a time of 2:02.64, followed by Anna Lehr, and Erin Wetmore, which made up for the Hurricanes second place finish in the 200 medley relay.
Liberty also placed second in the 200 free relay where Maggie Walters, Emily Buell, Kundu, and Kayla Drago were outtouched by Easton by .37 seconds.
"We were in second from the beginning, but we were slowly catching up. If Kayla could have swam an extra 50, we could have won," said Kundu.
Drago won two individual events, the 50 free with a time of 25.87, and the 100 free with a time of 56.45.
Julia McCarthy took first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.30, and Chloe Kobus placed first in the 500 free with a time of 5:38.0, both for the Hurricanes.
This Thursday will mark the last regular season swim meet for Liberty when they will host Freedom at 6:00 p.m.
"They have a couple really, really good seniors, which makes us nervous, but I'm confident we'll win because of our depth," Kundu said. "We have really good swimmers too."
