Janet Connor-Hanninen, 67, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 29, 2015, in her home. She was the wife of the late Dr. Clifford C. Hanninen and the late Samuel I. Connor.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Anna (Rakochy) Chorney.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Moravian College and a master's degree in French Literature from Rutgers University.
She was a French professor at Moravian College for 30 years and at Muhlenberg College for many years.
She was a member of the American Association of Teachers of French.
She belonged to St. Mary's Ukranian Orthodox Church, Allentown.
She is survived by a brother, Russell and his wife Donna Chorney of Allentown; a niece and goddaughter, Lauren Vernau of Philadelphia; a goddaughter, Isabel Okauda of San Francisco; two step-sons, Tom and John Hanninen; and two grandsons, Jason and Christopher Hanninen
She was predeceased by a step-daughter, Lynn Hanninen.
