Perry T. Koch, Special Olympics medalist

Perry T. Koch, 54, of Easton, died Jan.17, 2015, at Easton Hospital. He grew up in Northampton, and was the son of Ronald and Priscilla (Siekonic) Koch.

His vocational training was through Colonial Northampton Intermediate Unit 20.

He attended Concepts. He worked in the Lehigh Valley through the Lehigh University Community Choices program. He was a charter member of the former Faith and Light Community, Allentown.

He was a Bethlehem Special Olympics participant and earned medals in track, cross country skiing, basketball and bowling. He was a member of the Monday afternoon bowling league at Town and Country Lanes, Bethlehem. In 1981, the Easton Express named him the top athlete of Special Olympics.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Ronald Jay and his wife Jill Koch, and a sister, Heidi A. and her husband Richard Karasiewicz, all of Northampton; uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; companions; and extended family of Praxis caregivers.
