Candace C. Nickischer

Candace C. Nickischer, 37, of Lehigh Township, formerly of Milesburg, died Jan. 21, 2015.

The loving wife of Peter Nickischer, they would have been married 10 years this coming June.

A former Centre County deputy sheriff and police officer with the Ferguson Township Police Department, she was employed with Lehigh County Domestic Relations until illness forced her to retire in 2014.

She enjoyed animals, staying fit, eating healthy and riding her mountain bike.

Beautiful, intelligent, and courageous, her greatest passion was being a loving mother to her three boys.

Although she will be missed greatly by her family, she was an inspiration to many and she will never be forgotten.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Kentyn S. and Kaden T. Chambers, Landon D.; mother Roxie Ishler; father Kenneth Ishler; sister Tammy Reed, all of Bellefonte; grandmother Evelyn Tupper of Milesburg; brother Kenneth Ishler of Lake City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Goodwill Fire Company, Station 25, 7723 Hamilton Blvd, Breinigsville, Pa 18031, whose brave men and women volunteered their time to raise money to help support Candace and her family.

The Nickischer and Ishler families sincerely appreciate the tremendous amount of love and support shown by the communities of Upper Macungie, Lehigh Township and Centre County, as well as the law enforcement community.

Arrangements made by Hunsicker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Orefield.
