ANCIENT OAK COLUMN 'Old Phil' prepares for annual prediction

The first month of a new year is almost over.

Groundhog Day is Feb. 2. Old Phil will come out of winter residence, sniff the air and let us know if we will have another blast of frigid air. Sometimes his predictions are right. Sometimes I think he is still half asleep and just wants to get back to his warm bed.

The Ancient Oak women's organization meets at St. Paul's Church, Trexlertown Road, Trexlertown, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4. The members will do crafts after the business meeting.

Winners of the Ancient Oak home Christmas decorations were: first place, 1339 Oak Drive; second place, 1472 Butternut Lane; third place, 7325 Hillcrest Drive.

The Lower Macungie senior citizens meet at the community center on Brookside Road noon Feb. 3 and 17. Bingo and games are played after a short business meeting.
