The Whitehall Township Zoning Hearing Board of Adjustment has granted a variance and special exception to DriveLine, LLC, 1000 MacArthur Road, Allentown, for a proposed vehicle repair shop on MacArthur Road.
Gary Hess and Craig Peoples offered testimony at a recent hearing. Hess and Peoples noted the premises covers 5,800 square feet, including two bays and lifts, and will will employ two full-time mechanics.
The zoning board was informed vehicle body work will not be performed on site, nor will there be any vehicle sales.
Conditions set forth include the submission of a parking plan to the township zoning officer for approval. Also, no outside storage of scrap parts, tires, or abandoned vehicles will be permitted on the premises.
Also during the hearing, Isam Aliabour of 711 Pennsylvania St., Whitehall, sought a variance to a provision of the zoning ordinance relating to performing work without a permit along with maximum impervious coverage.
Following testimony at the hearing, the board went into executive session to deliberate and later returned, voting 4-1, to reject the request for the variance.
