Melanie A. Carl, 44, of Allentown, died on Jan. 18, 2015, at home.

She was the fiancée of Mario Balcazar.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Joseph N. and Myra A. (Torbey) Carl of Ruchsville.

She was an avid woodcarver, painter and artist.

In addition to her fiancé and parents, she is survived by a brother, Jason N. of Allentown; sister Jennifer S. Holecz of Orefield; maternal grandmother Evelyn Mohr of Emmaus; paternal grandfather Louis Fix of Allentown; nephews Joseph, Noah and John; and beloved pet bird, Ava.

Her services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 23, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St., Allentown.

Calling hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Her burial will be at Zions Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
