James M. Minneman
James M. Minneman, 61, of Allentown, died Jan. 16, 2015, in his home surrounded by his family.
He and his wife Margaret (Zerby) Minneman celebrated 38 years of marriage last August.
Born in Chester, N.Y., he was the youngest child of Minnie E. (Quackenbush) and the late William P. Minneman.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, South Whitehall, where he taught Sunday School and served as an usher.
Having earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he worked for PPL for 35 years in various positions including supervisor of Nuclear Emergency Planning and most recently as a financial director for PPL Solutions.
He was a dedicated family man and was involved in many of his children's activities.
He was board president of the Young People's Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley, and a former Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 431.
An open-minded and fair person, he demonstrated his Christian values in all aspects of his life.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son Michael James; daughter Sarah Kathryn; sisters Barbara, Alice and Marilyn; brothers Peter and George; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will take place 11 a.m. Jan. 24, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall.
There will be a time to greet the family after the service in the Wesley Center.
