Sounding fire alarm
Police responded to a report of a fire alarm Sunday, Jan. 18, in the unit block of North Front Street. It was determined the alarm went off due to cooking. No reported damage.
Gunshots reported
Officers were called to South 12th Street, Jan. 14 due to a report of gunshots. Officers checked the area, but found find no one around or anything amiss.
Report of an odor
A complaint of a strong odor summoned police to the Columbia House, Second and Coplay streets Jan. 13. Both police and the fire department responded. A resident reporting the strong odor said it made her ill. Fire personnel determined the strong smell originated from someone spray painting a vehicle hood in the basement. The fire department ventilated the building.
Citizen assist
Police were called to the 3100 block of North Ruch Street due to a report of a woman falling in front of the former Zephyr Market. Borough officers tended to the woman until Whitehall Township officers arrived at the scene.
