N. Wells Gow Jr., 84, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 5, 2015. Born in Bloomfield, N.J., he was a son of the late Norman Wells Sr. and Lois (Tice) Gow. He was the husband of Betty-Jane (Kolb) Gow for more than 60 years.
He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He attended New Jersey Institute of Technology where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and earneda master's degree in engineering management.
He worked for Picatinny Arsenal, Xerox Corporation, Cornwall Manor, Dentsply, Bethlehem Steel Corporation; and retired from N.Y. Life.
He was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Bethlehem, where he was a former consistory president and the former finance committee chair.
He was a member of the Scottish Society of the Lehigh Valley. He was an ombudsman for Northampton County. He was a MORA Club member and sang in the MORA Chorus. He volunteered his time for Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Allan Gow of Bethlehem, Judy and her husband Kelly J. Peffley of Lebanon, Allison and her husband Michael Duffy of Bethlehem Twp., and Mark Dominy of Apopka, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Shane and Alixandra Peffley and Sydney Duffy. He was predeceased by a daughter, Betsy Gow Dominy.
