John S. Fliszar, die sinker

John S. Fliszar, 87, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 10, 2015. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Nemetz) Fliszar. He was the husband of Lorraine J. (Artinger) Fliszar for 40 years.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a die sinker for 35 years for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation until he retired in 1985. He later worked for Lehigh University athletics for 20 years.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was a member and past president of the National Sokols and a member of the Bethlehem Panthers A.A.

He was a Bethlehem Area Bowling Association Hall of Fame inductee.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Molnar of Bethlehem and Bonnie and her husband Joseph Preisler of Hellertown; four sons, James and his wife Lorraine of Winter Haven, Fla., John S. Jr. and his wife Sarah of Manheim, Thomas and his wife Felicia, and Richard, all of Bethlehem; a brother, Joseph Fliszar of Souderton; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Hewas predeceased by a son, William North; a son-in-law, Frank Molnar; two sisters, Mary Estojak and Helen Kalmar; and two brothers, Francis and Louis Fliszar.
