Hokendauqua column

On Monday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m., the Woman's Club of Whitehall is having a Festival of the Arts event at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Whitehall High School students will be presented with certificates and awards for their winning art.

The Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association is holding registrations for the upcoming boys baseball and girls softball season Tuesday, Jan. 20, 6-8 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 31, 2-4 p.m.; and Friday, Feb. 6, 6-8 p.m. at the Hokendauqua American Legion Post, 3739 American Legion Drive.

When registering, bring a copy of your child's birth certificate (for first time players), proof of health insurance and contact information including phone numbers and email addresses.

New to the HPPA this year is boys majors baseball teams for ages 16 and up.

The Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association will award two $1,000 scholarships through the Bob Warke-Dale Horn Scholarship Program.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a class of 2015 graduate, continuing your education in the fall of 2015, have participated in HPPA's basketball, softball or baseball youth programs and submitted a completed scholarship application form to HPPA by Feb. 28.
