A big congratulations to Catasauqua Middle School student Maddie Moussa, who placed first in this year's spelling bee competition held last Friday at the school.
Maddie will move on to compete in the 29th Annual Regional Scripps National Spelling Bee competition March 26 at Northampton Community College.
CMS student Jacob Drummer was this year's runner-up.

The second marking period for Catasauqua Middle School students ends tomorrow.

A reminder that schools in the Catasauqua Area School District will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 19.
Classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 20

The middle school PTF group will hold its next meeting Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in the library.
