Girls get first win for Ed Seidick

The Catty girls got off to a quick start and never looked back, picking up their first victory of the year and also the first win for new head coach Ed Seidick, beating Northern Lehigh 40-29 Tuesday night.

Catty jumped out to a 7-1 lead after one quarter led by Shiloh Sziy's three points. Kelly Sobrinski and MaKenzie Bradley also had buckets.

The girls extended their lead to 18-9 after two quarters of play. Bradley paved the way with two three pointers in the quarter while Sobrinski also added a three and Amarys Moten chipped in with a bucket.

Bradley would add another three in the third quarter as the Bulldogs attempted a comeback, outscoring the Roughs 11-7 in the frame and cutting their deficit to 25-20 after three quarters of play.

But Catty put together a big fourth quarter and pulled away for the win, outscoring the Bulldogs 15-9. Sobrinksi had four points in the fourth as did Moten. Shiy added three and Bradley two.

Bradley ended up with 13 points to lead all scorers. Sziy added 10 and a Sobrinski had nine.

Jess Olewin had 12 points to lead Northern Lehigh. She had the Bulldogs only point in the first quarter but came alive for 11 points in the second half, including six points in the final frame.
